The goal of this workshop (organized jointly by the Faculty Academic Center of Excellence at Towson, the Office of Sponsored 项目 & 研究, the School of Emerging Technologies) is to help faculty members develop grant proposals. The program is intended for faculty who are interested in developing a new proposal. Projects may be in an early stage of development or be further along. The projects could be either interdisciplinary or within a particular discipline.

Participants will receive a summer stipend to develop a proposal over the course of the summer. Depending upon the specific nature of the project, the workshop will allow them to fine-tune the project idea, develop a team, identify appropriate funding sources, 和 develop a competitive proposal. This will be done through a program of peer mentoring for the participants 和 focused programming on grant planning, writing 和 submission. For projects that 有 a team already in place, we encourage any one member or the lead investigator to apply.

During June, participants will attend seven bi-weekly one-to-two-hour sessions, some in-person 和 some remote. At the end of the period, faculty will submit a complete grant narrative that is ready to submit for funding.

Participants will be paired with faculty mentors successful at winning external grants 和 OSPR staff who will support them over the course of two months as they re-write their existing grant proposal. After a January kick-off event, faculty 和 mentors will set accountability deadlines 和 meet to discuss progress over a two-month period. The workshop will include several sessions on crucial sections of grant applications, which will be identified once the participants in the workshop 有 been determined. At the end of the two-month period, faculty will complete the workshop with a revised 和 improved grant narrative that is ready to submit for the next round of external funding. Upon submission of their revised proposal, participants will receive a $500 stipend.

OER are free learning materials that are written for the purpose of being shared publicly with no compensation for the creator. 方面 periodically offers grants to faculty for exploration or adoption/adaptation of OER for their classes.
