Appointments at the Writing Center are held both face-to-face and via our live chat system. Live-chat tutoring works similarly to face-to-face sessions in that you are “meeting” with your writing assistant and receiving targeted feedback but are doing so in the comfort of your home or anywhere with a stable internet connection. We offer 60, 90 or 120-minute-long appointments, depending on the length of your paper. At the time of your appointment, please login to towson.mywconline.net, select your appointment window, and click on the link that reads “start or join online consultation.” From here, your writing assistant will provide feedback and offer strategies for revision. If your paper is 7 or more pages double-spaced, please be sure to attach your paper to the appointment window at least one hour before the appointment. With longer papers, our writing assistants read over your work ahead of the appointment to allow more time for discussion.

写作中心 provides individual writing support to all members of the Towson community, including undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and staff members. We work with writers at any stage of the writing process from brainstorming to polishing a final draft.

Writing assistants work with writers to develop and organize their thoughts, sharpen their focus, and communicate their ideas more clearly and precisely. We support writers with any type of writing project, whether a PowerPoint presentation for a sociology class, a lab report for biology, or a resume for a summer internship.

Our job is to read through your writing and provide reader-based feedback on everything from idea development and audience analysis to organization and grammar. It is important to note that we respect writers and rely on your insights and participation.
